With the passage of time, there have been variations in latest types of Salwar Kameez. Here are some types of salwar kameez.

  • Anarkali – This is especially in vogue now. This is mostly worn on special occasion or on weddings. This is usually figure hugging till the upper part of the body and flaring in the lower portion. Usually the kameez have heavy jardosi and kundan work on them.
  • Another style which is also generally seen in Salwar Kameez is a short kurta with a dhoti style salwar. The trend that is generally followed here are Mix and Match. The reason behind the name is that there are contrast in color and print on both the salwar and kameez.
  • Patiala – This type is mostly worn in the state of Punjab. The specialty of it is that the salweer are exceptionally baggy and are worn in contrast with a long kurta or a short kurta according to the taste of the wearer.
